The MI FairTax
-House Joint Resolution L - was introduced
into the Michigan Legislature on May 3,
2007 with
37 cosponsors.
With a total of 110 Representatives in the house, 37
Cosponsors represent one third (33%) of the
membership. This was a very strong start.
On top of that, the signatures had been gathered in
only a few days and others have said they will sign
on when the bill is reported out of committee to the
House floor.
More than 20 of the
cosponsors appeared at a May 3rd press conference to
speak to the media and to show their strong support
for the MI FairTax. At least 5 TV stations were
present as were many newspaper reporters. This
coverage will help MI citizens learn about the MI
FairTax, and we know from our experience, the more
people learn about the MI FairTax the more they like
it. In essence, IT WAS A GREAT DAY FOR THE MI
FAIRTAX!!!!!!!!!!"
